I’m pursuing a Msc in Transcultural Psychiatry at McGill University. My research focuses on the decolonization of cannabis education through a community participatory research approach and is taking place in Kinngait, Nunavut. I’m interested in participating in the co-creation of programming and educative materials that respond to the unique needs of youth in the North and more specifically in Inuit Nunangat. Rooted in Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit and cemented in Inuit knowledge keepers’ ownership of the process, my research seeks to broaden the domain of expert knowledge in cannabis education from belonging solely to neuroscience and medicine by centring Inuit perspectives and knowledge of traditional medicinal plants.
