Max is a postdoctoral fellow at CRÉ (Centre de recherche en éthique). Before coming to CRÉ, he was a postdoctoral researcher (2020-2023) in the Responsible Beliefs project at the University of Helsinki. Before that, he completed his Ph.D. in 2020 at the University of Pennsylvania. His primary research interests are in moral psychology, metaethics, normative ethics, environmental ethics, and epistemology. His current research program is focused on puzzles concerning the nature of debts/duties of gratitude, the ontology and fittingness conditions of gratitude, and gratitude’s relationship with resentment.
